Glass Rooms in Lewes, Sussex
Glass Sunrooms
A favourite in Lewes, Glass sunrooms are available in a huge range from the expert installers at the outdoor living group. A structure that is encircled by a frameless door system is called a sunroom (winter garden). Winter gardens are also referred to as glass rooms, solarium outdoor enclosures, patio rooms or Florida rooms. What separates a glass room from a conservatory is its single glazed feature. A glass room is never overly hot in the summer because it is also constructed with glass side panels that can be drawn to expel heat.

Glass rooms are strikingly different from other rooms in a building because of the amount of natural light that comes into the room. Glass rooms allow you to enjoy the outdoors without having to deal with insects or the atmospheric conditions of Lewes. Homeowners often incorporate sunrooms as an inexpensive outdoor garden extension. A sunroom is also great home addition because it comes in a broad range of styles and designs. Winter gardens are also designed to perfectly match the existing style of your home.
The Different Types Of Sunrooms
Seasonal sunrooms are custom built with single glazed doors that offer natural ventilation and shade that can be enjoyed all year long. They are however not built to be used with a conditioning or traditional heating like radiators.
Glass Rooms: glass rooms are constructed with sturdy, long lasting single glazed doors and laminated glass roofs. This creates a space that provides a scenic view of the outdoors without insects, or weather conditions detracting from the experience.
Solariums: are outdoor living glass garden rooms that are perfect for growing sun loving plants, entertaining or relaxing. Depending on the build, they can be used all through the year. A distinct feature of this room style is that it is built almost entirely from glass.

A sunny warm glass garden room is a great place to host all types of events- a candlelight dinner, birthday parties and so on. Your guests will definitely enjoy the time they spend in your sunroom.
What are the heating options available for a sunroom?
There are a lot of heating options available for a sunroom. The more efficient method would be to use compact radiant heaters that warm up people not the room. These are powdered coated, so they can match the colour of your glass room and blend in seamlessly.
Can a cooling system be installed in a sunroom?
Typically, heat is not an issue in a glass garden room because it is constructed with sliding glass panel that create great air flow and when combined with a roof shade you will have the perfect climate all year round. In addition, you could also have a side shade that comes with an automatic sun sensor installed on the external parts of your sun room to follow the sun's movement.
FEATURED GLASS ROOM PROJECT
A contemporary glass room for outside dining
Mr & Mrs Farthing 5.7m x 3.0m glass room with integrated LED roof lighting, bespoke roof shade & dimmable heaters
Our vision was to have a very minimal and low maintenance garden that was going to be usable all year round. Our designer Martyn came out to meet us and immediately we were sold on the frameless doors as this would give us the view we were looking for.
The designIt was a pleasure to work on this project helping to create the Farthings’ vision of what an outdoor living experience should be. We delivered the solution they required without any compromise in design or practicality resulting in a great outdoor living area. The glass roof section of the glass garden room had a balcony cut-out in the middle to work around the protruding doors and windows in the centre of the property. We constructed a raised substructure which the room was built off and finished the surface with composite decking.
