What Are The Types Of Winter Gardens?
Seasonal sunrooms: are not designed to be used with radiators or air conditioning. This type of sunrooms features single glazed doors and can be used every single day of the year.
Glass Rooms: glass rooms are constructed with sturdy, long lasting single glazed doors and laminated glass roofs. This creates a space that provides a scenic view of the outdoors without insects, or weather conditions detracting from the experience.
Solariums: provide an outdoor like aesthetic feeling because they are constructed majorly from glass. Which makes them the perfect spot for growing plants, entertaining or relaxing with a cup of tea. Solariums can either be used all year long or seasonally depending on design or construction.

Property Value and saleability.
Most homebuyers in Colchester won't mind paying a little more money for a property that has a functional sunroom especially when it provides a scenic view. The return on investment would make this a worthwhile expenditure.
Revel in the natural light
A sun room is always bathed in warm and beautiful light that the sun provides. Not only does this room draw in natural light, but also the sun's warmth, making it a soothing space for an early morning cup of coffee or tea or relaxing with the morning paper or book.
Relax In Extra Room.
Including a sunroom in your house will provide you with more outdoor living space. This outdoor space can be used for unwinding at the end of a difficult day, an evening of relaxation on summer nights or entertaining. In Colchester enclosed outdoor living spaces are great, they provide you with extra room and when they are glass garden rooms; something spectacular.
Playrooms for children.
If you have young children or grandchildren, a sunroom can make a great play area. It is a spacious room that the younger members of your family can enjoy.
The Perfect Hosting Space.
A sunny warm glass garden room is a great place to host all types of events- a candlelight dinner, birthday parties and so on. Your guests will definitely enjoy the time they spend in your sunroom.
Is it possible to have heating in a sunroom?
A sunroom can be heated in a couple of ways. You can also use compact radiant heaters to warm up the people in the room and not the room itself. This is the more efficient option. Using one of these will not affect the colour of your room as they are powdered coated to blend in seamlessly.
How to cool a sunroom
The installation of a cooling system is really not necessary for sunroom. A glass garden room is designed with sliding door panels that open the room up and provide ventilation. Including a retractable roof shade will make the Sunroom even cooler. In addition, you can include external side shades that come fitted with automatic sun sensors that track the movements of the sun.
FEATURED GLASS ROOM PROJECT
A contemporary glass room for outside dining
Mr & Mrs Farthing 5.7m x 3.0m glass room with integrated LED roof lighting, bespoke roof shade & dimmable heaters
Our vision was to have a very minimal and low maintenance garden that was going to be usable all year round. Our designer Martyn came out to meet us and immediately we were sold on the frameless doors as this would give us the view we were looking for.
The designIt was a pleasure to work on this project helping to create the Farthings’ vision of what an outdoor living experience should be. We delivered the solution they required without any compromise in design or practicality resulting in a great outdoor living area. The glass roof section of the glass garden room had a balcony cut-out in the middle to work around the protruding doors and windows in the centre of the property. We constructed a raised substructure which the room was built off and finished the surface with composite decking.
